The legislative committee has already begun its meetings under a mandate to complete its work. The committee members include judges, academics, lawyers, and members of the relevant Task Force on the Safety of Journalists, which operates under the coordination of the Secretariat General for Communication and Media. These members are continuously updated on the committee’s progress.
The government’s objective is to extend the safeguards provided by the Directive to domestic cases as well, in line with the Anti-SLAPP Recommendation.
