On 14 April 2026, the Spanish Council of Ministers approved, at first reading, the Draft Bill and Draft Organic Law aimed at transposing Directive (EU) 2024/1069 (the so-called Anti-SLAPP Directive) into Spanish law.
This is only an initial step in the legislative process. The drafts will now go through further stages before any final version is adopted.
